MSDIS General News
Small changes were made to the MSDIS website in order to better highlight the data download options. New links to the Open Data Portal, the Missouri Map, and the MSDIS Data Library are now present in the sidebar of every page of the MSDIS website.
MSDIS would like to congratulate Mr. Matt Moebes for successfully defending his Master’s thesis research in late April. As many of you will remember, Matt was instrumental in helping with daily MSDIS operations, data development, and map orders during late 2017 and early 2018. Matt’s thesis involved comparing the quality of LiDAR data to Structure From Motion data captured from aerial drones.
MSDIS Downtime
No outages were reported during April 2019, however we noticed some slowdown on the Imagery server on 23 April. Both the Imagery and Map servers were restarted at approximately 7:03 AM in order to remedy the issue. As a consequence of the slowdown and the restart, a process lock was placed onto the NAIP 2016 image service, preventing the service from being restarted. We spun up a new NAIP 2016 image service as a temporary replacement for the original until the ArcGIS Server process was restarted once more on 24 April in order to disengage the lock.
