Call to Order – 10:00am

Approval of Minutes – Motion made and seconded to approve minutes from the January meeting. Motion passed unanimously.

Administration

OGI Report – Interested in GIS indoors. Looking for various funding sources past ARPA for 911 funding. Going through the IT governance 911 process.

MSDIS Report – January

MSDIS General News – We’re back in the classroom! As of January 2023, we are once again teaching a new generation of Mizzou undergraduates who are all in the same room as one another! We are very happy to return to teaching GEOG 1800 and are already very impressed by some of the students we have. This course has been through several major transformations over the years, and this one is no different. While we initially planned to stick to the original intent of the course as a high-level overview of all things geospatial tech, we are trying to use this semester to give students some idea of what circumstances and challenges they can expect in the professional GIS environment so they are ready to go to work (for you guys) as soon as they leave Mizzou.

As for MSDIS news, in no particular order, we have recently published the following image services:

2022/2023 Mid-America Regional Counsel
2022 NAIP
2020 St Louis Imagery Consortium

We are still working on adding the 2022/2023 MARC imagery to the 2022/2023 Statewide service.

MSDIS Downtime – No outages were reported during January 2023, however there was a brief hiccup towards the end of the month. Some services continued running just fine, others did not respond at all. I initially believed this to be an issue with the MSDIS storage space and restarted the server, which seemed to resolve the problem. Shortly after, however, I received a campus IT alert indicating that there were network failover problems experience at around the same time, which leads me to suspect that the problem was not unique to MSDIS.

Treasurer’s Report – No expenses. $18,557.31. Tony will eventually have expenses he will be requesting reimbursement on. End of budget cycle is June. We approve budget at June meeting after conference per by-laws.

Membership Report – No change

By-Laws Report – No Report

Committee Reports

Data Development – Presentation March 7th. SEMA will also be presenting on connecting GIS to Web EOC.
Education – No Report
Legislative – We have interest in our codifying bill. There has been some suggested additions. Wanting to add some membership sectors. Only 2 bills can go forward before spring break which limits our time currently. Send representative suggestions to Tony for him to reach out to.

Outreach – No Report

Marketing and Communications – Chris is still waiting on website access.

Mo GIS Conference – Registration is ready to go live. Just waiting on the last of the workshop abstracts. Once the workshops are all set then the registration link can be shared. Need several more abstracts to fill the time. Currently have half of a day filled.

NG911 – See aerial flyer for the 2023-2024 flight. Deadline is February 15th for buy up. Working through processes to spend 911 money on data remediation, portal creation, and imagery.

Liaison Reports

MAGIC – Planning retreat was a couple weeks ago. Trying new format.

NSGIC – Mid-year meeting coming up. Broadband and hydro are topics

Agency Reports

USGS – Maybe adding a couple counties to the 7 county Lidar acquisition.

Census – Urban areas shapefile has been posted.

Open Discussion

Nominations for the MGISAC leadership will be opening soon. Be thinking about people who would be good in leadership positions. Nominate with their permission. We vote on Chair Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer. Chair Elect nominees can give speech on their goals.
