  1. MGISAC Administration

4.1 Missouri OGI Report — Tracy Schloss

  • Tom and Tracy have been in conversations about the importance of the Imagery REST services maintained by MSDIS
  • MODNR and MODOT are heavy users of the MSDIS Imagery Services
  • SHI will replace WWT as a software/hardware prime vendor and is not a re-seller of ESRI software. Moving forward the state will have to go out for 3 bids to purchase a single use license.
  • Continue to have discussions with a vendor to purchase parcels for the State of Missouri
    1. 4.2 MSDIS Report
    • 7 new data layers were added to the MSDIS servers for download
    • LiDAR mosaics have been completed for county’s that have LiDAR data
    • January’s outage was related to the server virtualization transition
    • Looking to create an FTP process for the new environment
    • Tom has received the green light to begin developing GIS workshops to interested parties

    5.1 Census 2020- Jordan Duecker – Gave an update on the upcoming 2020 Missouri Census, Jordan stressed the importance of the data being collected

    6.1 Data Development — Jason Warzinik

    • LiDAR update – the remaining LiDAR data is to be ready March 2019 or sooner as it passes QA and delivered by USGS.
    • 3DEP survey will be starting soon. Parties interested in taking the survey should email David Nail dnail@usgs.gov by March 31.
    • David is taking on the role as the state champion and will rely on MGISAC to identify additional survey takers
    • NG911 – FirstNet hopes to strengthen rural offerings, an MGISAC rep will be on hand at the SEIC meeting in Cole County on March 28.

    • Matt Hesser – Thanked Joe and MODOT for the information he provided to support the 2020 Census Bureau; LUCA: Missing streets will cause problems for addressing in the upcoming census
    • Tracy Schloss – A house bill working its way through the governmental channels could potentially require Department of Revenue to map all the existing tax districts in the state; the State of Missouri awarded a mobility contract to ease the purchasing requirement for mobile application development
    • Wiley Howell – Lincoln University is in search of a GIS instructor
    • Joe Carter – Heading to Arkansas to the GIST Conference to present on a topic
    • Melissa Johnson – Jason and Jennifer will be at the SEIC Region F meeting to present on addressing alternatives
