June 3, 2015
Missouri is fortunate to be hosting an in-person meeting on June 3, 2015, at 9am to discuss the USGS 3DEP BAA process. The BAA is a grant opportunity through the USGS for collection of LiDAR data to produce high-resolution elevation models and other useful information. The meeting is an excellent opportunity for any level of government or NGO to learn about the BAA proposal process. But in addition, it allows those interested in LiDAR derivatives of the same areas to pool funding into larger proposals for economies of scale and eliminate potential duplication.
The meeting is being held in Room 232, Parkade Center, 601 Bus. Loop 70 West, Columbia, MO. USGS requires pre-registration for the meeting by going to the URL link below. Click on Missouri In Person meeting to get to the registration page.
The web registration uses Google Forms, which some government agencies deny access to on their computers. Please, if you have any issues with the registration form, instead email your registration to firstname.lastname@example.org (Shelley Silch, USGS Liaison for Missouri-Illinois). Shelley requests that you include:
Are you presenting an Area of Interest?
Do you consent to being included in any audio or visual recording of the event?
Enter name of project you plan to enter in the 3DEP Pre-BAA – Public Areas of Interest Project Collector Tool:
The Missouri GIS Advisory Council Data Development Committee will be participating in the hosting and content of this meeting in addition to USGS. Other opportunities to partner on LiDAR acquisitions in addition to the BAA can also be explored. Committee co-chairs are Jason Warzinik (JWarzinik@boonecountymo.org) and me, so be sure to let us know of any interest you have in LiDAR co-funding.
